China draws up regulation standard of e-cigarettes, but gives no date for adoption

China draws up standards to regulate e-cigarettes. The official website of the National Standardization Administration shows that the schedule of mandatory national e-cigarette project has entered the “approving” process. According to the review process, the National Standard of E-cigarette will be officially released within this year.

The China National Standards Program “Electronic Cigarette” is under the jurisdiction and reporting by TC144 (National Tobacco Standardization Technical Committee), and the competent department is the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau.

The standards includes the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, packaging, identification, instructions, storage and transportation of electronic cigarette.
